I am precisely where I’m meant to be and I’m so thankful. To be walking in my purpose feels incredible. Not only do I get to leverage my skills as a strategist and communicator but knowing that I’m serving the greater good truly fills my heart with joy. I am an incoming health policy and law student, starting my MPH program this fall, ahead of my JD.
What a gift it is to be able to pursue higher education. I don’t take any of this for granted and pray that I steward these opportunities well. God is so good and I am so thankful for all that I will learn and contribute to the programs and communities I will be engaging with.
In preparation for my move for school, I moved out of my downtown apartment and back with family. It’s definitely been an adjustment not having my own space but saving on rent is such a blessing.
Work-wise, I’m currently contracting with two clients and have to complete the foundations course required for my program by the start of the semester. In April, totally spur of the moment, I got the opportunity to style a ballerina. You can take the girl out of fashion but you can’t take fashion out of the girl! I helped style Dance Theater of Harlem Principal ballerina and “Firebird”, Alexandra Hutchinson, for Misty Copeland’s Spring Benefit event. Shoutout to Suzanne and the team at Rent the Runway for working with me on this. Alexandra wore the Atena Midi dress by Anna October.

On my downtime, I’ve really been enjoying going for walks, hanging out at a local cafe, and discovering books on my Kindle. I’m currently on the second book of the Hank Luger Legal Thrillers, a legal series by J.J. Miller. I read book 1 — The Midnight Lawyer in two days (I thought it was that good!), I’m currently on book 2 — The Midnight Witness, and I found out recently that book 3 — The Midnight Verdict will be released at the end of June.
I’ve also been catching up on episodes of “The View” now that I have Hulu again. One of the perks of being a student is getting student discounts!
